This Spicy Dill Dip Recipe is full of flavor! Pair it with all your favorite veggie and pita dippers and get ready for it to disappear and your next party or gathering! Even better? It’s so light and refreshing that it’s great for everyday snacking too.

Having a few tasty dip recipes in the rotation is a total must around here. Whether it’s for holiday appetizers, entertaining with friends and family, or simply after school snacking, dips do it all!

While I love the occasionally cheesy, melty, queso-riffic indulgence, yogurt dips are where it’s at! They’re light and healthy (this is a dill dip without mayo), which means I can not only make them more often but also eat more in a serving. They’re also crazy easy to make in advance and keep well for a few days in the fridge for intermittent snacking or advance party prep! Dare I say they’re even better the next day too? They totally are!

What Do You Serve Dill Dip With?

What tastes good with dill? You can serve this spicy dill veggie dip with anything and everything your heart desires!

I love this greek yogurt dill dip with fresh veggies such as carrots, celery, sliced bell pepper, and broccoli.

It’s also fantastic with fluffy pita bread, ruffle potato chips, tortilla chips, and toasty pita chips. Other tasty options include pretzels, breadsticks, and crackers.

Portion this sour cream dill dip out in little lidded containers along with bagged sliced veggies for grab and go snacking.

Serve it up at a party in either a bowl/jar (or as a bonus – a hollowed-out bell pepper bowl!) surrounded by your favorite dippers. This really is the perfect dill dip for vegetables!

Make a dill dip bread bowl! Or a dill dip pumpernickel bread bowl if you want some added flavor!

Pack small container of dip into school lunches with veggies and pita chips for a healthy side with their usual sandwich, salad, or wrap.

The options are literally endless!

You could even turn it into a snack platter with an assortment of flavored hummus, cubed feta cheese, fresh fruit and veggies. Add some bread and this super yummy Olive Oil and Herb Bread Dip to the mix and your crew will happily devour it all!

Leftover Dip?

That’s cause for celebration! Spread it on a sandwich! If you consider what is in dill dip, it really makes a delicious sandwich spread for turkey and veggie sandwiches and wraps! You can add it to fluffy flatbread with grilled chicken, veggies and feta, and get ready to face-plant!

How to Make Dill Dip, Spicy or Mild?

Feel free to make this delicious homemade dill dip as spicy or as mild as you like! As written, it’s on the medium side, so simply add extra jalapeño and/or seeds to spice it up even more or skip the jalapeño entirely for a mild veggie dip that’s totally tasty!

Garnish with fresh dill if you like.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup greek yogurt
  • 1 cup light sour cream
  • 1 large jalapeño minced
  • ½ tablespoon dried dill
  • ½ tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder or dried onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl combine greek yogurt and sour cream.
  • Mince jalapeno, removing the stem. Include all of the seeds for a spicy dip, half for a lightly zesty dip, and no seeds at all for a mild fresh dill dip.
  • Stir in dried herbs (dill and parsley), salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and chives and cover with plastic wrap.
  • Place in the fridge for a minimum of one hour, or simply make it the day before for an extra flavorful dip! Serve with all your favorite dippers and dig in!

Notes

This dip can be made with as little as 1 hour chill time, but for even more flavor try making this dip the night before, letting it chill while you sleep. The spices will mingle with the yogurt and sour cream and it's just plain glorious! Garnish with fresh dill if you like.
Craving an extra spicy dip? Let some hot sauce or cayenne pepper in on the fun! Season to taste with any extras of your choosing.
