We love these tasty homemade Air Fryer Meatballs served with our favorite pasta sauce or even in a meatball sub!
Ground beef and pork are combined with our favorite Italian inspired flavors make these juicy bites a crowd pleaser! Save on time, clean up, and even calories by using the air fryer!
Air Fryer Meatballs
Air Fryer Meatballs are crisp on the outside and juicy inside!
An air fryer is quick cooking (I have this air fryer here), these meatballs will cook in almost the time it takes to boil your pasta. Heat up some marinara sauce you’ve got the perfect Spaghetti and Meatballs dinner!
These meatballs don’t just have to be a meal, they’re great for snacking or as an appetizer too!
Ingredients and Variations
MEAT The meat is the most important part of any great meatball recipe! Lean ground beef and pork are the perfect blend of flavor and ensures they’re juicy.
SEASONINGS Italian seasoning along with Parmesan and onion powder are our favorites. I prefer onion powder in this recipe as they cook quickly and raw onion may not have a chance to cook through properly.
EGG & BREADCRUMBS Egg and breadcrumbs hold everything together.
How to Cook Air Fryer Meatballs
- Combine all of the ingredients.
- Form and place in the Air Fryer basket.
- Cook according to recipe below.
- Let meatballs rest a few minutes before serving.
Air Fryers can vary slightly, check your meatballs a couple of minutes early to ensure they don’t overcook. The meatballs should be 165°F in the center.
What to Serve with Air Fryer Meatballs
Fresh or frozen meatballs are easy to pop into soups or stews. We absolutely love them in our Spaghetti Carbonara or Italian Wedding Soup. Don’t forget some Cheesy Breadsticks. Mix up a brightly flavored Tossed Salad and dinner is served!
Leftovers
- Keep leftover meatballs in an airtight container or a zippered bag in the refrigerator for up to 4 days and in the freezer for up to a month.
- Reheat meatballs by microwaving them a minute at a time on high until they are heated through, or place them on a baking sheet and put them under the broiler for a few minutes until they are crisp again.

Thanks for sharing this recipe-it’s so easy and so good! Only had Italian flavored bread crumbs on hand so used that as well as the Italian seasoning and they were full of flavor. Really like the crispy exterior. You are so right about how different air fryers can vary. On my Ninja Multicooker a temperature of 390° for 10 min was just right. Serving them with home grown home made roasted tomato sauce. Looking forward to trying more of your recipes!
Super simple to make and oh so tasty
the meatball recipe was very nice but I didn’t have parmesan cheese nor the Italian seasoning. but we enjoyed it thank you I will make it again
These are incredible and easy! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I love this way of making meatballs! I had never tried cooking them in the air fryer before and it made it super easy. They brown up nicely but you do need to turn them so that they brown easily. I used a couple of silicone inserts in the air fryer and was able to fit 8 meatballs in each insert. When one batch was done, the next batch went in right away. Clean-up was a breeze and the meatballs tasted great!
Another five stars here! My market doesn’t sell ground pork except in the pre-packaged 1lb amount, so I opted to just go with 85% ground beef. Halved the recipe and it made 8 generously sized meatballs I split with my husband over spaghetti. I cooked them in the air fryer for 12 minutes, though next time I may shave off a minute or so and check them. They had great texture but I think they could retain a bit more moisture if I took off a minute (halving the recipe may have also affected this). Awesome flavor, nice and crispy on the outside and the picky eater of the house approved!
I’m recently learning how to cook with an air fryer that I just bought and this page is wonderful!!!! Love it
I am so happy to hear you are loving your air fryer as much as I do Rosa!
At the beginning of the recipe it says serving is 16 meatballs. At the end it shows 114 calories. How many meatballs makes up the 114? Thanks, want to make these soon.
The nutrition information is per meatball. They’re fairly large meatballs.
Loved these meatballs, even my picky little eaters ate them so def a win. Thanks so much for the recipe.
These meatballs were so easy to make and delicious! Simple everyday ingredients I usually have on hand. I used Ground Turkey instead and of beef and pork and they were tender and juicy! I used your directions and temperature but only cooked them for 11 minutes. Thank you for the delicious recipe!
I am going to try several of your recipes, the biggest reason I have chosen you is you give me the
nutrition facts, I am a type one diabetic, I need to know those facts, THANK YOU for providing that information. So many people don’t list it, so I just skip right over them. It should be a part of every recipe posted.
Grandma loves them! Thanks! I did too. She is 88 and being a Norwegian she lives for meat and potatoes etc. good treat once in a while!
trying this Recipe Tonight Love the air fryer Love using it
How long do you heat the air fryer at 400? Recipe sounds great!
Mine has a pre-heat button and it takes about 5 minutes.
New favorite meatball recipe. So moist and flavorful. Thank you!
These were great! I used 1 lb of ground turkey and a half pound of ground beef and they were delicious & easy! I had made meatballs on the stove before and it was hard to make them cook evenly and they took so much longer. This recipe is a keeper!
DO YOU HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR OVEN BAKING THESE BABIES ???
NO AIR FRIER IN MY HOUSEHOLD.
WAS THINKING OF USING THESE IN YOUR SLOWCOOKER MEATBALLS & GRAVY RECIPE.
ALSO, IN THAT RECIPE, DO YOU HAVE A PREFERENCE IN FROZEN MEATBALLS THAT WORKS FOR YOU. JUST GIVES ME A JUPING OFF POINT AS I HAVE NEVER USED FROZEN.
I DO HAVE A COUPLE OF MEATBALL RECIPES BUT LIKE TO GO WITH AN ORIGINAL RECIPE WHEN TRYING SOMETHING NEW LIKE THIS. IT CAN BE TWEEKED LATER IF NEEDED.
Hi Toni! Either fresh or frozen can be used in the slow cooker meatballs and gravy.
Frozen makes it really fast and easy but we do prefer the flavor of homemade. As for brand, many of the name brand meatballs are great.
If you’d like to bake these I would suggest rolling them into 36 smaller meatballs and baking them for 18-20 minutes at 400°F. If making the meatball and gravy recipe, they do not need to be fully cooked before adding to the slow cooker and can be browned in a pan.
These were delicious!!!!
this sounds delish. i’m getting the ingredients to try, next time i shop. if you had a button to halve recipe amounts, it would help. you can only increase the amounts.
thanks
When you click “print” you can change the servings size by half! I hope that helps.
These are always amazing! My 3 year old and husband love them! Excellent
