Air Fryer “Boiled” Eggs are by far the easiest way to make perfect eggs every time! They can easily be cooked to soft, medium or hard depending on preference and use.
This is definitely my favorite way to cook eggs, the whites come out firm and the yolks are creamy.
Best Boiled Eggs
Once again the Air Fryer has proven itself to be an all-purpose kitchen appliance (find our favorite air fryer along with everything you need to know about air fryers here).
Of course, these aren’t technically “boiled” since there is no water required but they do come out perfect every single time.
- They come out with perfect whites and creamy yolks.
- They’re so easy to peel, the shells just slide right off.
- Eggs can be cooked to soft, medium, or hard.
- Hard-cooked eggs can be served warm or chilled for snacks and egg salad.
How to Boil Eggs in an Air Fryer
- Preheat Air Fryer according to recipe instructions.
- Place the eggs in the fryer basket and cook.
- Once the cooking time is completed, plunge eggs into an ice bath to stop the cooking process and chill them.
- For soft boiled eggs set timer for 11 to 12 minutes at 250°F.
- For medium boiled eggs set timer for 13 to 14 minutes at 250°F.
- For hard boiled eggs set timer 16 to 18 minutes at 250°F.
Plunge eggs into an ice bath for 5 minutes.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These eggs were tested in a Cosori XL 5.8QT Air Fryer with large eggs directly from the fridge. Different brands/sizes of air fryers can cook differently so be sure to test one or two eggs before cooking a whole batch of eggs to ensure they’re done to your liking.
Do the eggs crack open in the air fryer while cooking? I have cooked countless batches of eggs in the air fryer and only one egg has ever cracked open. The cracked egg leaked a little bit but didn’t burst.
To Peel Eggs
There are several ways to peel hard-boiled eggs. We find the most foolproof way is to gently tap the bottom of the egg on a hard surface and then roll it until the shell is cracked all the way around. Gently remove the shell with your fingers while running the egg under cold water. The shell should slip right off!

I make different preparations for many foods. This was a first for Air Fryer. My usual is Instant Pot (565)- I got right up to compare.
I did 16 minutes- the only difference was a bit more clingy on the peeling but nothing like the stove(hard to remove) and a bit of texture when biting in. I really enjoyed a new preparation.
I am glad you enjoyed this as much as I do Jody! This has become my new favorite way to cook eggs as the shells are so easy to peel!
Which setting should be used?
Bake, air fry, roast, grill?
I use the air fry setting.
Bestway to have “Boiled” air fryer eggs.
Peeling is a breeze, especially if you don’t want them to chop, but sliced for salads or deviled.
Bless the person who came up with idea!
I am so glad you love this recipe as much as I do Linda! It’s quickly become my favorite way to make “boiled” eggs.
This worked perfectly! Thank you for the recipe!
So glad you loved it, it’s a go to for us too!
Saw this & tried it.Eggs were perfect & peeled so easily.
To avoid cracking, poke a very small hole in the “fat” end of the egg, using a straight pin. This lets the air escape as it heats rapidly.
Thanks for the tip Gail, we will have to try that out.
I have the same air fryer and just made the eggs according to the recipe. I wanted hard boiled for egg salad and tuna salad so I kept them in the fryer for 16 minutes then to an ice bath for 5 minutes. They came out perfect. No green ring and they all peeled so easily. I came across you by looking up potato recipes (au gratin and scallop) which I’ll be making soon. Your recipes look so good. I’m glad I found you!
I’m so glad too Amy!
What an awesome way to cook eggs! Thank you
So glad you loved them Dennis!
My Ninja can not be set below 300 degees, how can I compensate for the 50 degree difference?
You will need to cook them for less time, I can’t say for sure how much as I’ve only cooked them at 250°F. Let us know how it goes!
